GET CRAFTY WITH THE 4TH GREAT ANNUAL SCARECROW COMPETITION
Call all your contacts. Sound the alarms. The 4th Great Annual Scarecrow Competition has begun!
This much anticipated festival is the biggest event of the year for all scarecrow creators and enthusiasts, and this year, they are looking for new competitors. This event invites families, schools, sporting clubs, co-workers and craft masters to try their hand in scarecrow making, an art that has thrived for hundreds of years.
From January through to March, these scarecrows serve as the guardians for the Flying Brick Cider Co, a local cider company. Unfortunately, with the freshest, quality apples and pears come the hungriest of birds looking for a snack!
Winning this prestigious competition is no easy task, and this year there is more than $4000 dollars up for grabs in prizes. All scarecrows will be judged between March 7 and March 10, with the winner being announced on April 11 at Flying Brick Cider Co. Only a 20-minute drive from Glenlee, make a day of it one weekend in February to check out the scarecrows or enter your own!
Tell a friend, grab the kids and get your hands on some hay, because the time for scarecrow making starts now!
