Home to a historic icon!

You might’ve seen, heard, or read about an exciting home restoration happening in the historic Sparrovale farmhouse in Charlemont!
As reported in News.com.au and the Geelong Advertiser, a local buyer, passionate about preserving the building’s unique history, has committed to breathing new life into an Federation-era farmhouse, complete with original timber fretwork and ornate ceilings.
The buyer approached Heritage Victoria before committing to the farmhouse restoration, which was originally home to the Geelong racecourse and was the terminus for a railway branch until 1906 before it was auctioned in the 1930s to become the privately owned Sparrovale farm.
Since the site was purchased, the agent who handled the sale has been able to introduce the purchaser to a local who lived in the original house as a child and had worked on some of the previous changes that were made.
Positioned directly opposite Glenlee, we’re excited to see this project – which demonstrates the many investment opportunities within Armstrong Creek – come to life as our community continues to grow alongside it.
