AHorseshoe Bend Primary School makes progress!

An exciting new development is coming to town, with the upcoming primary school – temporarily named Horseshoe Bend Primary School – set to open in Term 1 of 2026 at 10 Amber Avenue in Charlemont, just 1.9kms away from Glenlee!

Joel Riddle has been appointed the school’s first Principal with 23 years of experience in government education.

Previously working as the first Principal of Lollypop Creek Primary School in Werribee, Joel is excited to bring his experience in creating safe, caring, and inclusive learning environments to the Geelong region.

Detailed designs for the school were also recently unveiled, including two learning neighbourhoods, an administration and library building, outdoor hard courts and a sports field, plus a community hub featuring an indoor multi-use court, canteen, and arts and music spaces.

As construction continues to progress, the school’s foundations and core structure are beginning to take place – with structural steel and roofing complete.

Work is now underway to progress the school’s wall framing and cladding, with internal fit outs to follow.
